Very good news: The Common Academy has received its first bit of funding, in the form of a £1000 bursary from American Express, given to enable us to realise our potential.
This is very good, and encourages me greatly. From previously being vaguely nowhere I feel the CAA is now almost certainly somewhere, glimmering, in the future.
Hurrah!
3rd - 7th August. Workshop 1a, Shoreham by Sea. The CAA will be a temporary centre for creative learning and an exhibition space, making use of an empty shop in Shoreham and housing a programme of free classes, talks, events and workshops proposed and led by volunteers. Progress
Having posted an ad on Gumtree for assistance I was surprised and very happy by the number of responses from people who seem to be very interesting, talented and excited.
I have set up a forum which will be used to develop our ideas, gather research and find roles. In the meantime here is a photo to symbolise our journey onwards, into the unknown, into the light...
